Finally, this army is done. I am completed with 3000 points of Abyssals (plus 1 extra character for increased modularity.) Below I will break it down by lists at each points level: 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, and 3000.
Here is the complete army: 2 X Succubus regiments, lower abyssals regiment, flamebearers regiment, abyssal horsemen regiment, Tortured souls horde, 2 X Gargoyle troops, hellhounds troop, 2 harbingers, 1 temptress, 1 efreet, Bael, Arch fiend Sophie, the Lord of Lies, and Chroneas.

I wanted to be completely modular with this army, starting with a 1000 point demo army. Thus my 1K army is made up of: regiments of lower abyssals, flamebearers and succubi; troops of gargoyles, hellhound, and horsemen; an efreet; and a harbinger.

Next, we bump it up to 1500 points. For this, we add another gargoyle troop, a second succubus regiment, we bump up the horsemen to a regiment, and add in a temptress.

My 2000 point list should not be a surprise to anyone who regularly reads my battle reports. It is 2 regiments of succubi, a regiment of horsemen, a horde of tortured souls, 2 troops of gargoyles, a troop of hellhounds, 2 harbingers, the Lord of Lies, and Arch Fiend Sophie.

Bumping it up to 2500 points, I’ve been through a lot of different versions, but the one I ran just last night is pretty nasty, and consists of the above army with the addition of a flame bearers regiment, Chroneas, and an efreet.

So, lets take a closer look at some of these units.
Sophie:

The Lord of Lies:

Bael:

Chroneas:

Here we see the temptress and one of the harbingers. This harbinger (flag bearer) will almost always travel with the 2 succubus regiments and is assumed to have the Lute of Insatiable Darkness to bane chant the girls:

To round out the characters, we have the other harbinger, the efreet, and also pictured are the flame bearers. I wanted the efreet to have that classic gunfighter’s pose, so I put him leaping from a rock with one fireball shooting and cocking a second one. The other harbinger is shooting to represent his almost universal equipping of the Boomstick:

Next up we have the 2 regiments of succubi. One is normally equipped with the Ram’s Helm, and the other comes standard with the Blood of the Old King:

One should never have an army without some chaff. For my chaff, and some people disagree with me when it comes to the dogs, are 2 troops of gargoyles and a troop of hellhounds:

And, finally, we come to my personal creation. I know that Mantic makes official tortured souls, but the official ones are neither height 2, nor flying. That said I decided to construct my own using ghouls and sculpy. I’m fairly pleased with the results, considering I suck at sculpting.

Well, that’s it. A mere 16 drop 3000 point army. It’s complete, and I’m happy about it.
